Ingredient

  • Yogurt 1 and 1/2 cup .
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup

Recipe

Add both the ingredient into a bowl and blend it with blender. U can add icecubes to make it cooler. I used cold yogurt and after making I refrigerate lassi for half an hour so I didn’t used icecubes .

After blending the lassi is ready to serve. Pour it in the glass and garnish with your favorite chopped dryfruits.

Make it, try it & Enjoy your summer cooler. Share what else you prefer to get cool in these summery days.

Why You consume Soft drinks?

Hello buddies, Hope you all are getting healthy knowledge from my blog. Must read & share all the post if you are interested to be health and make your community healthy.

Today’s talk is about Soft Drinks. Why you consume soft drinks? You really love them, Are you sure ? You love them as a drink for energy? or for taste? or for your digestion? For what reason you consume soft drinks? You can answer it in the comments. So give the the answer first and then read further.

What is soft drink? It is a high fructose, caffeinated beverage.

Consumption of sugar sweetened soft drinks and fructose is strongly associated with an increased risk of Gout in men, finds study published by The British Medical Journal.

Okay, don’t consider that it is risky for only men. It is not at all beneficial to any age human. Not for women , not for your child , because soft drink consumption is associated with aggression, depression and suicidal thoughts in adolescents. Aggression , attention problems and withdrawal behavior are all associated with soft drink consumption in young children.

You may find soft drinks beneficial when you are thirsty in summers, especially. But that is only for your mind. Soft drinks doesn’t serves any benefit for your dehydration. The first fluid you drink to re-hydrate following a period of dehydration should be plain water not a sugar-ladden drink.

New research suggests that drinking sugary, caffeinated soft drinks while exercising in hot weather may increase the risk of kidney disease. The study is published ahead of print in the American Journal of Physiology — Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology. “The consumption of soft drinks during and following exercise in the heat does not re-hydrate,” the researchers explained. ”

Have you find any other good reason to drink sot drinks at anytime for any need?

Thank you for being here. Share it in your family and friends to apprise them.

Are you sprinkling Salt or Plastic ?

Hello Readers,  Coming back after so long with this post ,  An eye opener post.  Always love to share healthy information and here again with that.

Presently every food contains some unwanted unhealthy nutrients. either to keep them fresh for long or during their production/manufacturing or for taste betterment. Today’s information is on Salt, the basic needed ingredient in almost every meal.

Over 90% of sampled salt brands globally were found to contain micro-plastics, with the highest number coming from salt sourced in Asia, according to a new study co-designed by Kim, Seung-Kyu, Professor at Incheon National University and Greenpeace East Asia.

The study, which has been published in Environmental Science & Technology, a peer-reviewed scientific journal, analyzed 39 various salt brands globally, showing that plastic contamination in sea salt was highest, followed by lake salt, then rock salt – an indicator of the levels of plastic pollution in the areas where the salt was sourced.Only three of the salt brands studied did not contain any microplastic particles in the replicated samples.

Recent studies have found plastics in sea food, wildlife, tap water, and now in salt. It’s clear that there is no escape from these plastics crisis, especially as it continues to leak into our waterways and oceans,” said Mikyoung Kim, Campaigner at Greenpeace East Asia. “We need to stop plastic pollution at its source. For the health of people and our environment, it is incredibly important that corporations reduce their reliance on throwaway plastics immediately.”

The study highlights Asia as a HotSpot for global plastic pollution meaning that the ecosystem and human health in Asian marginal seas could potentially be at greater risk because of severe maritime micro-plastics pollution.

Assuming intake of 10 grams per day of salt, the average adult consumer could ingest approximately 2000 micro-plastics each year through salt alone, as the study suggest.

“The findings suggest that human ingestion of micro-plastics via marine products is strongly related to plastic emissions in a given region,” said Professor Kim, Seung-Kyu, corresponding author of the study. “In order to limit our exposure to micro-plastics,preventative measures are required, such as controlling the environmental discharge of mismanaged plastics and more importantly, reducing plastic waste” he added.

So that’s it guys , Reduce your plastic use for your upcoming generation’s health and of-course for your health. See what you are eating at present and what people will eat in future – Plastic Plastic and Plastic ?

An Orange a day is as important as an Apple a day for your Health, Why?

Why this Apple is so famous? Have you all any idea about it? Well well, I am talking about the fruit -Apple, not that iphone company.

By the way that Iphone company Apple also make the apple very well known. But some other things are like since we start learning an Alphabet, the very first alphabet is A and we identity it as A for APPLE. And another is that famous quote for health is “An Apple a day, Keeps the Doctor away.” Remember it? I know who can forget that? 😃

I am not criticising the popularity of Apple. But just like Apple, What do you know about Orange? Except that it is good source of Vitamin C.

Let me tell you guys….Orange is a good source of vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin C,thiamin, folate and potassium.

Flavanoids in Oranges helps to prevent against the eye disease.

A new study has shown that people who regularly eat oranges are less likely to develop macular degeneration(eye disease) than people who do not eat oranges.

The research showed that people who ate at least one serving of oranges everyday had more than a 60% reduced risk of developing late macular degeneration 15 years later.

Eating an orange once a week seems to offer significant benefits. Data shows that flavonoids found in oranges appear to help protect against the disease.

Flavonoids are powerful antioxidants found in almost all fruits and vegetables, and they have important anti-inflammatory benefits for the immune system. Common foods which contain flavonoids are tea, apples, red wine and oranges.

For Macular degeneration age is the strongest known risk factor and the disease is more likely to occur after the age of 50. There is currently no cure for the disease. So it’s better to prevent by adding an Orange to your daily diet. ☺

Do you Know How Vitamin C can protect your Newborn Babies?

Hello my healthy readers …. Came with a very informative post today. Hope you all will spread awareness on this issue. Participate with me to make a healthy community and share it with your family and friends.

The post most importantly focuses on the women who are smokers and can’t quit their smoking during pregnancies.

Women should put priority to quit smoking during pregnancy. Women who are unable to quit smoking during their pregnancy may reduce the harm which smoking does to their baby’s lungs by taking Vitamin C, according to a new randomized, controlled trial.

Daily supplemental vitamin C in pregnant women who could not quit smoking improved their newborn’s pulmonary function. At one year, the study also found that babies whose mothers took vitamin C were less likely to develop wheeze.

The mothers who smoked were randomized to either receive 500mg of supplemental vitamin C everyday or a placebo in addition to the same prenatal vitamin. They were encouraged throughout their pregnancies to quit smoking. On average, the mothers in both arms of the study who could not quit, smoked seven cigarettes a day. In this study there was significant difference in lung function between two groups of babies.

The study did not find a significant difference between two groups of babies in gestational age at delivery, delivery mode, incident of prematurity or birth-weight .

The researchers said that they are not certain why vitamin C has this protective effect on the lungs.

Pregnant smokers who will not or cannot quit despite all efforts, Vitamin C supplementation may be a simple & safe way to help their babies breath better.

Note : This information is based on the study, I am just trying to let the people know about it and encourage all the smoker women to quit smoking while their pregnancies. And try to improve a diet. You should take an advice of your Doctor/ Gynecologist to start Vitamin C supplementation.

Fiber Rich Foods For Daily Consumption.

What is fiber?

Dietary fiber is the indigestible portion of food derived from plants. There are two types of fiber – Soluble fiber which dissolves in water, it slows down digestion & Insoluble fiber helps in smooth and ease defecation.

Usually we should consume foods which are high in fiber daily. So that we can prevent any health problems related to constipation, indigestion and all. When a nutrionist  suggest his/her patients a high fiber diet , which means the patients have some issues related to indigestion – constipation or something else. There may be various reasons for particular condition of patient but what I am try to say is our daily diet should include high fiber foods to prevent any health conditions.

Let’s jump into the foods which contain high fiber are :

  • Apple (1 medium) – 5 gms of dietary fiber
  • Pear (1 medium) – 6 gms of dietary fiber
  • Sweet potato (1 medium) – 4gms of dietary fiber
  • Broccoli (1 medium stalk) – 3 gms of dietary fiber
  • Green beans (3/4th cup) – 3gms of dietary fiber
  • Onion (1 medium) – 3 gms of dietary fiber
  • Avocado (1/2) – 5 gms of dietary fiber
  • Black beans (1/2 cup cooked) – 8 gms of dietary fiber
  • Lentils (1/2 cup cooked) – 8 gms of dietary fiber

Based on energy intake, a level of about 40g of fiber/2000 Kcal in a diet is considered reasonably safe by Indian council of Medical Research.Intakes in excess of 60 g of fibre over a day can reduce the absorption of nutrients and may cause irritation in the bowel apart from diarrhoea.

Dietary fibers can lower the glycemic impact of foods, which can be especially beneficial for people managing their blood sugar levels. A high fiber diet can reduce the risk of stroke, hypertension and heart diseases. Also helps in weight loss and weight management.

Information given above are in very short and sweet manner. If you want to know more in detail then do let me know in the comments below. Thank you so much for reading. Improve your daily diet now if you prefer more on junk.

ALERT for NIGHT OWLS

Night owl – A person who is habitually active or wakeful at night.
Lark – A person who habitually gets up early and feels energetic early in the day.

We all know that sleeping at late night causes lots of disadvantages. And that disadvantages are not temporary what we feel on next day morning. But that affect through out your life. Ayurveda has given ideal time for sleep i.e. 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. which is best for your body and mind. Medical Science has also proven that late night sleeping is associated with many diseases and disorders.

In today’s generation it is most common thing, I don’t think we should mention it as a problem cause It has became a habit now (by choice). Reasons behind that vary on what type of person you are , Students have to be awake for studies – exams , same way job workers has also some deadlines for completion of work , some people just spend time on social media till late night. Eveningness is also associated with unhealthy diet habits (more fat intake) which leads to increase risk of cardiometabolic diseases. In geriatrics eveningness is associated with depression and mood disorders.

Late night persons also experience greater “social jetlag”, which is caused by going to bed and waking up later on non-working days compared to working days. Greater social jetlag is also associated with overweight.

People who wake up late have an internal biological clock that doesn’t match their external environment. Ultimately it may results in to long term problems – increase prevalence of wide variety of diseases or disorders, including diabetes, psychological, neurological, respiratory and gastrointestinal/abdominal disorders.
Night owls have 10% higher risk of dying sooner than larks according to a study from Northwestern Medicine and University of Survey in UK.
