  1. I had been on Metformin for seven years, but a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting lowered my blood sugar and I have been off Metformin for 2 1/2 years. I have been going through a three-month period of illness initiated by food poisoning (lettuce, I think) and put on a low-residue diet that may have raised my blood sugars. I am recovering and slowly transitioning off the diet. I suspect that when I see my next A1c, I will be fighting old battles again. I will be revisiting your blog for more health information. Thank you for putting it out there, Prashasti!
